TDI Advanced Wreck Diver
(Wreck Penetration Techniques & Procedures)
This course provides training and experience to competently conduct advanced wreck dives. The program includes penetration skills and techniques. Depths shall not exceed the level in which the diver is trained and competent but in no case shall the maximum depth in this program exceed 55 msw.
Student Pre-Requisites
Minimum age of 18, minimum of 50 logged dives equivalent (this program may be combined with the TDI Nitrox Diver Course, Advanced Nitrox Diver Course, Decompression Procedures Diver Course or Extended Range Diver Course), certified as basic Wreck or Cavern.
Qualifications of Graduates
Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are qualified to dive in environmental conditions and undertaking wreck diving activities that approximate those of training.
Required Course Minimums
Classroom / Briefing Hours - 8
Openwater Dives - 6 penetration / overhead dives with a minimum accumulated bottom time of 100 minutes.
Required Subject Areas
Equipment Considerations, Procedures, Hazards of Wreck and Overhead Environment, Penetration Lines, Research & Locating, Contingency Planning, Land Drills, In-Water Drills, Line Drills.
Required Equipment
Primary Doubles, Contingency Long Hose, redundant Depth Gauge and Timer, Primary & Backup Lighting system, 2 Line Cutters, Primary & Safety Reel, SMB
Graduate Requirements
Complete the TDI Advanced Wreck Diver exam, Complete all Open Water requirements safely and competently.
