TDI Nitrox Procedures
This is the entry level certification course for recreational divers wishing to utilize enriched air nitrox (EAN) and trains divers in the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for using nitrox mixes from 22% to 40% oxygen content as a breathing gas.
program sets the base understanding for all TDI Technical Diver programs!
STUDENT PRE-REQUISITES
QUALIFICATIONS OF GRADUATES
Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are qualified to enroll in:
- TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver Course (Nitrox to 40 msw)
- TDI Decompression Procedures Course (Deco to 45msw)
- TDI SCR (Dolphin/Ray) Diver Course (Semi-Closed Rebreathers)
REQUIRED COURSE MINIMUMS
Classroom / Briefing Hours - 4
Openwater Dives - 2 recommended but not required.
REQUIRED SUBJECT AREAS
History of EAN, Physiology, Physics, Equipment Considerations, Dive Tables, Dive Computers, Advantages & Disadvantages of EAN, Procedures, Common Mixing Procedures
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT
Nitrox compatible cylinder & regulator, Nitrox Dive Computer recommended.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Complete the TDI Nitrox Diver Exam, Demonstrate Understanding of oxygen analysis for Nitrox mixtures
Minimum age of 15, minimum of 10 logged dives and certification as a diver (this program may be combined with the TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver Course).
