SSI ADVENTURE DIVER COURSE

 
 
 

The Adventures in Diving program offers both the Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications.

If you complete any three adventure dives, you can earn your SSI Adventure Diver certification.

If you have complete your Deep Adventure Dive, Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive and three Adventure Dives for a total of five, you can earn your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

WHY BECOME AN ADVENTURE DIVER

Have you always wanted to try underwater photography? How about wreck diving? Here's your chance because you can sample three dives of your choice, get a taste of what you like, and feel more comfortable in the water, strengthening your underwater skills and letting you enjoy diving more than ever.

WHAT DO I NEED TO START

  • SSI Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification,
    (or qualifying certification from another organization)
  • Minimum age: 15 years old
    (12 for SSI Junior Adventure Diver)

WHAT WILL I DO

This certification includes five Adventure Dives, including the Deep Adventure Dive, the
Underwater Navigator Adventure Dive and three of the following:

Underwater Naturalist

Boat Diver

Underwater Navigator

Peak Performance Buoyancy

Underwater Photography

Deep Diver

Night Diver

Search and Recovery Diver

Wreck Diver

How long will it take?

The program will take about a day & a half depending on what experiences you would like to choose

What will I need?

  • Adventures in Diving Crew-Pak includes log book
  • Your own mask, snorkel, fins and boots
  • A slate, torch , whistle & safety sausage

SSI STRESS & RESCUE DIVER COURSE

 
 
 

How do you take a subject like accident prevention and management and turn it into fun? Do the course with Aquatic Explorers that is how!

The Rescue Diver program develops your knowledge and skills so you can effectively perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and render first aid. The program is an important step in expanding your knowledge and experience as a diver. Rescue Diver certification is also a prerequisite for all SSI leadership programs.

You’ll also need to have successfully completed the Emergency First Response® program or a sanctioned program in CPR within the past 24 months. The SSI Rescue Diver program covers:

What will I do?

Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water sessions, you'll cover:

  • Self-rescue and diver stress
  • dive first aid
  • emergency management and equipment
  • swimming and non-swimming assists
  • panicked diver response
  • underwater problems
  • missing diver procedures
  • surfacing the unconscious diver
  • in-water artificial respiration
  • egress (exits)
  • first aid procedures for pressure related accidents
  • dive accident scenarios

How long will it take?

Recommended Course Hours: 1 - 2 weekends depending on the group.
This is a performance based course.

What will I need?

  • SSI Rescue Diver Crew-Pak
  • Your own dive gear or hire ours.

With the sun heating up the diving around Cronulla, Aquatic Explorers is going Technical, with the introduction of Deeper and more interesting Dive charters every second Saturday..

INTERSTATE DIVE TRIP
Aquatic Explorers is heading to Fish Rock later this year, this is always a great trip for anyone who is new to diving and want to try somewhere a little different to the Scuba Diving around the Sydney Dive Sites.
