SSI OPEN WATER

This is your ticket to a lifetime of fun & adventure with Aquatic Explorers, a dive company that sets the standards in the Sydney diving community. Aquatic Explorers has been nationally recognised by being recieveing dealer awards, appearing in the popular media and participating in prestige events.

Your underwater adventure can begin as soon as today, by reviewing your openwater diver book. You can view these materials at home, at your own pace and then meet with an instructor for further assistance. Open water learning options also include group or private instruction. This course offers tremendous flexibility and lets you work out individual needs with your instructor. We cater for shift workers and unusual schedules.

Throughout the course, you’ll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including familiarisation with your dive equipment, and diving techniques.

You will also earn a SSI Gold Open Water Diver certification that is recognised worldwide
 
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE COURSE

Prior to the course you will be issued with your "Crew Pack", this contains Open Water diver Manual, Log Book & diving tables.

Day 1:- Meet at the store @ 8.30 am. This will be a day for equipment reviews, buddy procedures, and review of your open water manual.
   
Day 2:- Meet at the store @ 8.30 am. This will be a day for pool dives.
   
Day 3:- Meet at the store @ 8.30am. This will be a day for 2 local dives which leave from the shore.
   
Day 4:- Meet at the store @ 8.30am. This will be a day for 2 local dives which leave from the shore. on either days 3 or 4 you will need to a short quiz on what you have learnt so far.

After your course you will also get to experience 2 Extra Boat dives (Valued @ $125.00) and 1 extra shore dive (Valued @ $75.00)

WHAT WILL IT ALLOW ME TO DO

As a certified SSI Open Water Diver you have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of an instructor. If you already tried a SSI Discover Scuba Diving experience or are SSI Scuba Diver certified, check with your instructor to see how credit from these courses may apply to the open water program.

WHO CAN BECOME A DIVER

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a Open Water Diver certification. During the course, your Instructor will ask you to demonstrate the ability to swim 200 metres. If you are between 12 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a SSI Junior Open Water Diver program available.
 
 
 
 
WHAT WILL I NEED

SSI Open Water Crew-Pak containing your log book & dive tables.
(This is supplied with the course)

Your own mask, snorkle, fins & boots. (To respect health & hygiene considerations we don't support the practice sharing of these items) All of our divers get preferred pricing on any items that they need for the course.

Course investment $395.00

At Aquatic Explorers we are not prepared to put anyone at risk by cutting corners to provide so called "cheap" diver training. We do it right.

 
WHATS NEXT

Now that you are a SSI Open Water Diver, take the skills you have learnt from your instructor and go enjoy diving, the next course you do will only build on your skills and experience, and lead you down to more exciting adventures with the SSI Adventure diving course.
TECHNICAL DIVING IS HERE!

With the sun heating up the diving around Cronulla, Aquatic Explorers is going Technical, with the introduction of Deeper and more interesting Dive charters every second Saturday..

INTERSTATE DIVE TRIP
Aquatic Explorers is heading to Fish Rock later this year, this is always a great trip for anyone who is new to diving and want to try somewhere a little different to the Scuba Diving around the Sydney Dive Sites.
